Jennifer Cichon  -  B.Sc K, M.ScPT, CAFCI

Jennifer Cichon - B.Sc K, M.ScPT, CAFCI

Owner / Physiotherapist

Jen is a physiotherapist and the proud owner of Airdrie Physiotherapy & Massage. She graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and went on to complete her Masters in Physical Therapy from Queen’s University in Kingston. She has been a practicing physiotherapist since 2006 and was the clinic director for a large company in Calgary. She is passionate about helping people get better and improve their quality of life. She believes in personalized, hands-on treatment and education as opposed to only machine based treatment.


Jen cares about her patients. This is reflected in each treatment and experience with her. She has completed Level 3 in Manual Therapy and is certified in acupuncture and hip rehabilitation. Jen has completed the Diagnostic Imaging course through the University of Alberta and has completed post graduate courses for the foot and hips as well as myofascial release.

She enjoys skiing, hiking and is an avid runner having completed many half marathons over the years. She is a proud mother and loves spending time with her husband and children when she’s not helping people get better.

Eyal Okin  -  B.PT, CMS, Dry Needling

Physiotherapist

Eyal is a University of Haifa graduate and holds a degree in Physiotherapy (2006). He is certified in spinal and peripheral manipulations, and has the dry needling certification for treating chronic myofascial and neuropathic pain in the spine and extremities.  He brings experience working as a physical therapist with a variety of athletes, including those playing elite level soccer, swimming and CrossFit. 


Eyal has a special interest in vestibular therapy and concussion, and received a certificate of competency in Vestibular Rehabilitation.  He also has extensive knowledge regarding TMJ (The temporomandibular joint ) and works with many dentists and oral surgeons.  


He believes in integrating manual therapy, dry needling, myofascial release, taping and exercise prescription in a multi-modal approach to treatment for success in healing and recovery.


Eyal is fluent in English, Russian and Hebrew.

Physiotherapist

Brittany graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and continued her education at the University of Alberta where she completed her Master of Science in Physiotherapy. Brittany is certified in Level 2 Manual Therapy, Functional Dry Needling, Anatomical Acupuncture, and TMJ/TMD Management.


Brittany brings her enthusiasm for learning to the team and a passion for helping people recover and stay active. She believes in an educational approach to recovery in conjunction with manual therapy to help her patients avoid future problems. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, camping and baking.


Brittany is excited to be part of the team at Airdrie Physiotherapy & Massage where patients come first!

Ken Luu  -  MScPT, CAFCI

Ken Luu - MScPT, CAFCI

Physiotherapist

Ken graduated from the University of Alberta in 2006 with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. He has also obtained his Certificate of Anatomical Acupuncture (CAFCI) from the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute and his Level 2 Certificate for Functional Dry Needling (IMS) from Kineticore. Ken is also a Kinesio Taping provider after completing the KT1 and KT2 courses with Kinesio Taping Canada, and has completed Level 3 of the Advanced Orthopedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy Courses
 
A lifelong student of martial arts, Ken has incorporated the self improvement philosophies of the various styles he has trained in into his treatment approach. This includes a combination of manual therapy, acupuncture, IMS/dry needling, and most importantly an individualized exercise program for each client to improve their specific condition.
 
Ken currently enjoys training in Muay Thai in his spare time. He has also previously trained in Tai Chi, San Shou, holds a 2nd degree black belt in Chito Ryu Karate, and a 1st degree black belt in Ko Bu Jutsu.

Physiotherapist / Pelvic Health Physio

Marhanda graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Masters of Physical Therapy from the University of Saskatchewan. Marhanda has completed 3 levels of pelvic floor physiotherapy training. This includes treatment of: incontinence, prolapse, pelvic pain, bladder pain, post c section rehab, return to sport and persistent low back pain referring to the pelvic floor. She has further been educated on persistent pain and nervous system hypersensitivity for those who have struggled with long-term pain in any area of the body. Marhanda is also trained in intramuscular stimulation (dry needling). She uses what she has learned to compliment her core treatment approach of: exercise, education, and empowering her clients.


On her time off, Marhanda tries to stay active with hiking, biking and tennis. She also loved to spend time with her cat, friends, and family.

Sierra Kerr

Physiotherapist

Sierra Graduated from Ambrose University in Calgary with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Then she went on to the University of Alberta to complete her Master of Science in Physiotherapy. Sierra has interest in kinesiotape, manual therapy and in expanding her knowledge on treatment options for migraines. Sierra’s treatment style consists of education, hands-on therapy, and exercises to promote recovery and prevent future injuries. Sierra believes in being a lifelong learner and is always looking for opportunities to expand her knowledge.


Sierra loves spending time with friends and family in her spare time. She also likes to stay active by playing volleyball, going hiking, biking and wake surfing in the summertime.

Sheryl McFadzean

Registered Massage Therapist 2200Hr

Sheryl has been a massage therapist since 2001. She graduated from the Lethbridge College in 2001 with honors and on December 2013 she wrote and passed her 2200hr Competency Equivalency Exam (CEE) at Mount Royal University. 

 Sheryl is trained in a wide variety of techniques such as Trigger point therapy, deep tissue massage, myo-fascial cupping, and basic Lymphatic drainage. In 2003 she worked at the University of Lethbridge Health and Wellness centre  performing massage therapy to students and faculty members, and in conjunction with medical doctors and onsite chiropractors and physiotherapists. 
      
In 2016 Sheryl traveled to the Mayan Riviera on a massage conference to learn Integrated Ear, Hand, and Foot reflexology for injury and pain. She loves to continuously learn new techniques to better aide her clients needs.

 When she is not not working, Sheryl loves to travel and be outdoors. She is happiest camping outside or hiking. In 2013 she attempted the West Coast Trail. You will have to ask her about all the stories with that adventure!

Jessica graduated from the Professional Institute of Massage Therapy in the spring of 2016 with her 2200hr Massage Therapy diploma. Her focus is to create a specific treatment plan tailored to your individual needs. With a background in both a sports therapy clinic as well as a chiropractic office, she can provide a variety of massage services, including but not limited to: deep tissue, therapeutic, relaxation, lymphatic drainage and pregnancy massage.  She is also certified in dynamic cupping.


Aside from the relief you will feel from the massage itself, Jessica strongly believes in self-care. She will provide you with strengthening and stretching exercises to do on your own as well. 


Jessica was born and raised on a farm North West of Airdrie, so when she is not working, she enjoys riding horses and working on the farm with her family.

Egle Buiskyte

Egle is a 2200hr registered massage therapist.  Egle graduated from Mount Royal University, as a RMT, in 2017.   Her massage treatment methods include deeper tissue massage together with relaxation, depending on client’s goals.  


 Egle has a big passion for health industry and strives to continue to learn new skills to reach the best results.  She has completes courses in myofascial cupping, lymphatic drainage, TMJ, gua sha, K-Taping and acupressure.


Egle loves nature (mountains, beaches, animals…), activities (hiking, running, cycling, dance…), enjoys to explore Canada and other countries, meeting new people with their stories and beautiful life experience.

Cindy Bohlender

Cindy studied Massage Therapy at Mount Royal University and belongs to The Canadian Massage & Manual Osteopathic Therapist Association (CMMOTA).


Cindy believes in a holistic approach to massage and focuses on the overall therapeutic goals of the client, assesses physical restrictions or issues, discusses treatment based on clients immediate and long term needs and performs an individualized treatment plan.   Cindy cares very deeply about her client’s health and wellbeing and ensures their comfort and security in all aspects of the massage.


Cindy offers Therapeutic, Sports, and Relaxation Massage and provides stretching and strengthening exercises to further support the individual in a homecare plan.

In her spare time Cindy has a passion for fitness which includes Extreme Bootcamp workouts, weight training and being outdoors hiking, biking, and taking long walks with her dog Briggs.

Oksana Waldner

Having been a massage therapist since 2008, Oksana has extensive experience in the field. She graduated from the Kyiv Medical University of the Ukrainian Association of Folk Medicine with honors in 2008.


Throughout her career as a massage therapist, she has been fascinated by the body and traditional healing practices. As she worked in a rehabilitation center for a few years, she discovered she liked helping people feel better and relax. She believes massage therapy is a great way to reduce stress, promote relaxation, and ease pain. The goal of her career is to help people become the healthiest and most vibrant versions of themselves.


Using a combination of assessment and treatment, Oksana restores function and alleviates pain and discomfort in the musculature, fascia, nerves, joints, and bones. Her therapeutic massage techniques and manual therapy include, but are not limited to, Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, manual lymphatic drainage, myofascial release, joint mobilization, trigger point release, cross fiber friction technique to break up tissue adhesions and decrease scar tissue's negative effects on the body, and general relaxation massage. To further support the individual in homecare planning, she also provides stretching and strengthening exercises. Oksana has undergone specialized prenatal training and has a great deal of experience working with women for pre & postnatal massage. She utilizes a specialized pregnancy pillow which allows women to safely and comfortably lay down at all stages of pregnancy.


In her spare time, Oksana enjoys traveling and hiking outside with her family. Her other interests include gardening, baking, hiking, biking, and taking long walks with her dog Ronic.  She is fluent in English, Ukrainian and Russian.

Elisabeth Temple

Elisabeth graduated from MH Vicars 2200- hour massage therapy program in Calgary of 2018. She pursued a career in massage after seeing first hand how much it can help with recovery after suffering a injury, having surgery, and with easing pain and discomfort from everyday life.


Elisabeth believes in working with her clients to achieve their short and longterm goals, by listening to their concerns, assessing their condition and providing an individualized treatment plan.


Elisabeth is trained in a variety of techniques which she likes to incorporate throughout her treatments, and likes to take a therapeutic approach.


Outside of work Elisabeth enjoys spending time at the barn, exploring the outdoors with her family, learning new things and

seeing new places.

Kristen Cole

Kristen is a graduate of Alberta College of Massage Therapy, where she earned her 2200 hour Massage Therapy diploma and was awarded honours with distinction. 


After spending nearly 15 years helping people as a 911 operator, Kristen was inspired to become a massage therapist partly due to her experience as a client! As a former sufferer of chronic tension headaches, Kristen knows first hand the importance of identifying and treating the cause of pain, not just the symptoms, and is passionate about working with clients to achieve lasting results and improve their quality of life. 


When she is not busy with her new career (still helping people, just in a much different way) Kristen enjoys chasing after her kids, hanging around with her dogs in the sunshine, and attempting to achieve balance by practicing yoga. 


Kristen is full of knowledge and enthusiasm, and is  excited to be a member of the team of professionals at Airdrie Physiotherapy and Massage, to help you feel better!

Andrea Eschak

Registered Massage Therapist 3000hr

Andrea was born in Edmonton and moved quite a bit before settling in Airdrie.  She received her 3000 hour diploma at Makami College.  Her active lifestyle and personal training background led her to massage as she understands it’s importance in helping to keep the body working at peak levels.


Andrea enjoys incorporating multiple massage techniques into her routine with myo-fascia release, trigger point, deep tissue all catered to what the client needs.


In her spare time,  Andrea likes to run, weight lift, hiking & trail running adventures, spending time with her dog and game nights with her family.

Shelly grew up in Toronto but has been in Alberta for over 20 years.  She has been in customer service for 20 years and enjoys helping people.

 

When not at work her time is spent, cooking, knitting, reading, watching MMA, walking her dog and spending time with her family and grandson.

Allison graduated with her MOA and Unit Clerk certificates from Bow Valley. She was born and raised in Calgary but has enjoyed living and becoming a part of the Airdrie community for the last three years. She really enjoys to help people and learn new things. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, and taking her kids on adventures.
